Purpose
These terms govern the use of https://mercesjose.com and the purchase of the electronic books offered here.
Intellectual property
All the content of this site and of the books is the property of Jose Pereira De Merces. The purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to read the book. Reproduction, distribution, resale or public sharing without written permission is not allowed.
Purchase and delivery
The books are electronic files. After the payment is confirmed, you receive by email a personal download link, valid for a limited time. If the link expires before you use it, write to us and we will send another at no cost.
Right of withdrawal
Under Directive 2011/83/EU, as transposed into Portuguese law by Decree-Law 24/2014, the consumer has fourteen days to withdraw from the contract. As this is digital content supplied immediately, that right ends the moment the download begins — which is stated here and which you accept on completing the purchase.
If the file is corrupted, incomplete or does not match what was described, you are entitled to a replacement or a refund. Write to us.
Prices and tax
Prices are shown in the currency indicated and already include tax. On sales to consumers in the European Union, VAT is applied at the rate of the buyer's country, as the law requires for digital goods.
Liability
The content of the books is informative in nature and reflects the author's opinion and research. It does not replace professional, legal, financial or technical advice applied to a specific case.
Governing law
Portuguese law applies. This does not remove the mandatory consumer protections of your own country of residence. In a consumer dispute you may turn to an alternative dispute resolution body, or to the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
